One of the most interesting books i’ve ever read. I loved the symbolism of Billy’s broken mind shown through the idea of ‘time travel’ aka scattered memories. A slow start but at the end I couldn't put it down! Amazing classic.

the comfort in this novels absurdity is unparalleled.
the novels able to share an extremely tragic and dark story while simultaneously cracking jokes and making the weight of the book feel so light. a must read for those who appreciate more reflective historical pieces with some nice sci fi.

“You’ll pretend you were men instead of babies, you’ll be played in the movies by Frank Sinatra and John Wayne or some other glamorous, war loving, dirty old men. And war will look just wonderful, so we’ll have a lot more of them. And they’ll be fought by babies like the babies upstairs.” - Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-Five

Wow, this was really good. Horrifying and gross and very of-its-time writing style (complete with more than a few eye-roll-y choices but whatever), but I liked how it played with structure and narration.
