Jenn Bennett's done it again.
This was adorable and didn't disappoint.
I'll read anything she writes.
If you want a nice summer read, I highly, highly recommend anything by Jenn Bennett.

Chasing Lucky is a cute, quick read that follows Josie as she moves back to her childhood home and reconnects with her former best friend who is now a mystery to her.
Although I have to say that this wasn't my favorite Jenn Bennett novel, the romance and banter brought me joy and that's what kept me reading. Even though the family relationships seemed a bit underdeveloped and solved too quickly at the end, it was still an interesting dynamic. I just wish the book would have included more family-related scenes.
I also think that
The ending made me like the book a bit less. Josie was getting on my nerves and everything wrapped up too neatly too fast. I like a happy ending but it needs to feel earned.
Overall, this was a cute contemporary and that's what I was looking for. It's the kind of book you can easily finish in one day.

Lucky and his past trauma was an interesting story but it was only hinted at how it's still affecting him to this day. I wish we saw him really work on his sort of saviour complex and have more honest conversations with Josie. The ending made me like the book a bit less. This was a cute, sweet read to balance out all the other stuff I’ve been reading. Loved Lucky (did NOT love his name) and I enjoyed Josie’s character. I wish the “bad guy” would’ve gotten what he deserved, but otherwise I thought this one delivered on a friends to enemies to friends to lovers YA romance.
An enjoyable read but I didn't like it as much as the other Jenn Bennett book that I've read, Starry Eyes. I felt like the main characters in this one were a little dull and their romantic relationship wasn't as well developed so I didn't feel invested. The plot was also largely made up of small town drama rather than anything of substance. However, I loved the setting of the bookshop in a coastal town.
