Tilly Thompson wakes up in a care home, but this is one with a difference as the patients with Alzheimers there are taking part in an experimental cure. The patients are immersed in the world as it was when they were younger, which for Tilly was the 1940s, so all the décor, the food they eat, even the clothes are all designed to 'fool' the brain into believing it is still the past. It seems to be working as Tilly & most of the other patients show strong signs of both mental & physical regeneration. Tilly's husband, James, has suffered a stroke & Tilly wonders if the experimental cure could be tweaked for others.

This was a rather strange read but one that looks at our current concepts of ageing & infirmity. What if we could rewind our biological 'clock' & relive our lives? It's definitely an intriguing concept for a book but it became even more farfetched when winding back the clock also fixed a physical issue from a character's younger days. It also suddenly took a turn from the realm of sci-fi/fantasy into arranged marriages which to me was a strange juxtaposition of storylines. Overall, interesting concept but a little too out there at times.
