This books orbits around the Gilmore Girls which I'm not mad about, but it did make the ending very predictable, from the first chapter actually...

It had its funny moments but overall it felt like there were too many unnecessary details thrown in that made it feel congested.

All in all, a very enjoyable read. I liked the characters and the pace. The intrigue was there the whole way through.
However, I would have preferred Kate falling for someone she met on the dates. It would have been a fun concept, but it is what it is. Some bits from the men she had dates with seemed illogical and not real, ie. sitting at a table with someone you just met and sobbing over an ex without excusing yourself to go to the bathroom, or suddenly realizing that you do love your baby mama just because she’s sick… idk it just made me roll my eyes and sigh because it felt like weird ways to tick off the men somehow.

In the end I did like how Matt and Kate got together but I knew it was coming from the start and it annoyed me.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! As far as hallmarky Christmas reads go, this one was precious. A solid 3.5 ⭐️ from me, I love a good childhood friends to lovers even if it’s EXTREMELY predictable

Adorable holiday read! Love the little English village feel. The story was a bit predictable but just what you want in a Christmas romcom.

I’m happy I finally finished this. This just got a lower score the longer it went on. It’s too much, too long, too many descriptions about people that don’t matter, places, everything. Kates Mom sucked, first off. I liked the idea of 12 dates but the majority of these super long chapters weren’t even the dates! Half the dates had no conversation in them. This was so predictable but Kate’s feelings just happened so suddenly, she just woke up one day and she was in love. So unrealistic! Especially since her and Matt literally fight like immature children it’s ridiculous. What sparkle does he bring out?? The descriptions of the food and the scenery were nice but just wayyyy too much. I was bored and skimmed. I also find it annoying how Kate decides to leave this town which she loves with her best friends and family over a stupid fight.

Has Bridget Jones vibes, but not as good and way too long.
