Another average issue. Only one that stood out for me this time was Paranormal Romance.

Listened to the audiobook as part of the Unfettered anthology. An interesting story, I'll be looking at the series for sure.

Clair's life changes when she meets Gerald and Major and falls in love, she has her small insightful spells like kitchen witches and her love and for a time it doesn't matter that the game of chance unfetters her from her old life and old time, she can with the others observe the world and make small indirect changes, but if she directly changes a action for a effect she may very well die, or save the world.

“Alive, Alive Oh” by Sylvia Spruck Wrigley

The waves crash onto the blood-red shore, sounding just like the surf on Earth: a dark rumbling full of power. It’s been seventeen years since we left.

Pretty depressing story. A couple moves to another planet, so he can do scientific exploration. Things do not go well for their family on this poisonous planet.

This review is currently only for Ken Liu's short story "Mono no Aware". I have not read the rest of the magazine at this point.

Incredibly touching short story about what might happen in the future after an Earth-killing asteroid strike. This one definitely deserved its Hugo win, and is one of the best stories of any length that I've read all year.
