Hay muchas cosas que destacaron para mi de esta historia, pero primero que nada tengo que aclarar que cazadores de sombras es una serie que me ha acompañado a mi por casi 10 años de mi vida, y le tengo un cariño enorme a todos los personajes, que con la simple mención de sus nombres casi casi me agarro llorando, entonces la verdad no voy a ser muy crítica con Cassandra Clare, digo, cualquiera leyendo Secrets of Blackthorn Hall, están aquí despues de leer como 20 libros de la misma historia. Sabemos qué esperar, sabemos cómo funciona, y uno no lee más de 20 libros de una serie que no le gusta.
En fin. Una de las cosas que me ennncantó, fue volver a leer a Emma y Julian. Realmente no puede decir que tengo solo un personaje favorito de cazadores de sombras, pero Julian está en el top para mí, entonces me encantó verlo ser feliz con Emma, me encantó verlo conectando con el nombre Blackthorne y simplemente siendo feliz y disfrutando luego de tanta desgracia que le ha tocado vivir a mi niño.

You can probably tell from everything I’ve said how much I — how much we — love Kit. I just love him, Magnus, like he was my own. He is my own. I’d kill anyone who wanted to hurt him, just as I would protect Mina or Jem with my life. I never thought I’d have this again, this perfect family I love so much it hurts.
Además, todas las imagenes me encantaron, me pareció una manera muy fresca de contar la historia, en especial para una serie como Shadow Hunters, las fotos, los mensajes de texto, todo eso me encantó.
Finalmente, lo último que necesito comentar es que amo por completo la manera en la que Cassandra Clare conectó todas sus historias y en esta vemos como The Last Hours se conecta con lo que va a ser The Wicked Powers... Estoy muy emocionada (y asustada) por TWP.
the way this combined TDA and TLH 🥹🥹 and i had just finished rereading the ending of TLH so it was nice to see all the small details.
i liked how the letters formatting allowed for first person and some personality (but still done right and not cheesy). lately have not been a fan of 1st so i was especially sus since all the others are in 3rd.
everytime Tessa talked about her first kids (now 100yrs later) i teared up. (i guess it’s time to reread TID)
not to mention all of the setting up the angst fest that will be TWP 🥴 CASSANDRA BETTER SHOVE TY AND KIT INTO A CLOSET ASAPPPP. teen boys and their (maybe not so) stupid grudges. i literally can’t wait (i’ve been waiting 10yrs)

OMG, OMG, OMG, this novel was soooo good!!! I’m so glad I read it after rereading Queen of Air and Darkness because your girl would have been mad confused lol, but I just love what Cassie did with this. I loved it set things up for Wicked Powers as well as helped readers fill in the gaps of what has happened since QOAAD. I also loved the main plot of the novel and how we were able to have so many characters from the entire franchise show up in some capacity. I’m now extremely depressed though that I still have to wait a little over a year for Wicked Powers, though I’ve technically been waiting forever, but now that’s it’s close, it feels too far. Highly recommend this novel for Shadowhunters Chronicles fans to fill the gap we have before Wicked Powers comes out!

This is okay. I like these characters and this world, but the format of the book (an epistolary) makes it a bit cumbersome to read. You’re often reading summaries of plot that previously happened, but the benefit of an epistolary novel is that you can see how the characters feel about those actions, how reliable they are as narrators, etc., and I don’t feel this really took advantage of that capability. So it’s just a lot of, “why am I reading a summary of this story?” The one benefit is you do get to switch between the characters voices, and Clare is pretty adept at that.
Definitely not required reading in the Shadowhunter world; the fact it’s a limited bonus offering means nothing too important can happen because not all readers have access to it. But I’m not upset I read it. Also the photos and such throughout are a fun addition.
