This was better than the first book imo. I loved the plot twist and all the drama in the middle. Excited to finish the series next book!

How do I put to words the emotional damage Corinne Michaels just unleash on my poor heart. Holy cow! Give Me Love was incredible! The suspense, the swoons, the banter, the chemistry and the twists! I couldn't get enough. Emmett and Blakely were amazing together. Even after so much time apart, there was this undeniable pull between them. I loved them and I loved this book. One of my top reads of the year!

I know we are only two books in to the Rose Canyon series but I am insanely impressed so far. I'll even go as far as to say I'm obsessed with them. These books feel like a great representation of Corinne as an author. They're like a perfect mixture of her small town, swoony stories with her older, more suspenseful, Salvation Series. I can't wait to read more from this world. Judging by the way Give Me Love ended, we're in for a good one.

Give Me Love is the second book in the Rose Canyon series. I read it as a standalone and there were some references to the intrigue from the previous book. That did make it a little hard to follow but the author did try to give the backstory where necessary. The main characters were likable and had a strong bond with each other. They both had struggles from their past and their time in the military past they had to overcome.
After losing all her family, Blakely refused to experience that pain again. She kept everyone at arm’s length, but Emmett got past the walls she had built. She ran away from her feelings when her feelings grew too strong for her best friend and fake husband Emmett.
Emmett loved Blakely and understood her fears, but he was ready to move on with his life. He returned to his hometown of Rose Canyon, but his job and his investigations made him a target. Blakely’s arrival in town brings back all his feelings for her.
A beautiful and heartbreaking journey of a couple getting a second chance. It was truly a great story and I look forward to the next book in the series.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Omg the feels! I cried so hard and had to stop for a bit to collect myself. Blake and Emmett were absolutely beautiful and made for each other. This story was painful but perfect. Can't wait for Holden's story.

Just when Emmett thinks his life is simple but happy, Blakely comes back into his life and sends everything upside down. Especially when she announces that they are still married and she refuses to sign the divorce papers. Not only did she spring this on his family and friends but also brings chaos into his easy going life. There are numerous time I was wondering if I was reading a Corinne Michaels story. Not typical but oh so good!! This storyline will have you laughing, panicking and finally sigh with happiness. A great addition to the series.

I loved this book.

Getting the teaser of them in Help Me Remember, I was so excited to find out that not only was Emmett married but that his wife was a badass. Blakely was a combat medic and became fast friends with Emmett. They decided to enter a marriage of convenience but when one thing leads to another, Blakely got scared and left.

The way they both loved each other, even after all of their pain and loss, was all consuming. Emmett had wanted a divorce because he just wanted to move on, he couldn’t hold on any longer to something that, at the time, Blakely couldn’t give him. When she shows up in Rose Canyon because a case of hers crosses paths with one of Emmett’s, she’s determined to not only solve the case but to get him to reconsider the divorce and fights for what they could have. Emmett makes her work for it but he loves her just the same.

Their banter and tension was so well done and the suspense kept you guessing. I love this series so far and I can’t wait for Holden’s book!

This is not a romance. This is a mystery/suspense with a love story as a loose connector. There is no romance. There isn’t really a profound declaration of love either. There is a very tender moment during an intimate scene. There are also no full intimate scenes - only one that ended in mutual completion, if you know what I mean, and it was maybe one page. Overall I found this to be quite unsatisfying.

The set up for the marriage of convenience isn’t great either. Not that it has to be that plausible but it just doesn’t make sense with these two characters who essentially live celibate for like 5 years to get a higher paycheck and station options is bizarre. If they weren’t in love, why would it really matter. To say they were worried about getting caught BUT they weren’t worried about their marriage being discovered as a sham made no sense.

Was it a bad book - no. Did I like the characters- yes. Was I invested in the story - no. Was it interesting - kind of. Will I read the next one - I really don’t know. This series is just not doing it for me. I’m not invested.

I will say that Corinne writes wonderfully assertive and strong FMCs and non-toxic MMCs. I really appreciate that when the majority of MF books have horribly weak women with rampant internalized misogyny and openly chauvinistic men with an inability to express any emotion other than anger with a side of control issues.

"I didn't catch feelings, I fell like a brick to the ground in them"

Emmett and Blakely are so much fun together! Their banter and chemistry is off the charts. Blakely knows exactly how to push Emmett's buttons, and exasperate him, but he also gives as good as he gets! It's great to be back in Rose Canyon soaking up all the mystery and suspense!
