Third and final series of Dickinson poetry sees more similar poems, but this collection also seemed to be more focussed on eternity and the beyond.
This was probably the pick of the three series.
Dickinson always has something interesting to say in her poetry though, whether we hear it or not is another matter.

Took me awhile to get through this. Never really read any Dickens before beyond her most famous poem.

I think I'll be coming back to this in the future to reread some of these poems. I'm not sure I entirely liked her style of poetry writing and often didn't get many of these poems but there were a few I really liked and I think given time and a few more reads other poems will start to make more sense.

I don't like to rate poetry, so I won't here.

Emily Dickinson is a poet I want to love. I find some of her poems peerless and others that fall flat--like other poets. That being said, her grasp on the world is unique. Being a female writer during a time when it was frowned upon, she voiced a perspective little seen of the time. She dug deep from her soul and the authenticity of it was not to be denied.

My favorite poems were her Death poems; there was no question there. The long middle of the book (love poems) was extremely hard for me to get through, even though, there were some poems I liked.

(Wanted to get some initial thoughts down before I forgot. Will be back to update review with specific poems I loved.)

I enjoyed reading this even though i had no idea what they were about. The words were beautiful though.

This is the second collection of Dickinson poetry that I've read and I also adored it! ("Because I could not stop for Death" is still a fave, highly recommend reading that.)
I also underlined so many beautiful passages, phrases, sometimes whole poems- I have said it and will say it again: Emily Dickinson is my poetry queen.

Was this really good or did it just feel sophisticated because I didn't understand half of it?
