A book with witches? spells? mystery? Yes, yes and yes. This book is definitely recommended to those who enjoy mystery, fantasy and romance all together! Even after going through lot the MC does not turn into a monster or become a damsel in distress that needs a Prince Charming to save her. The character development and the interactions between Emilia and Wrath are so well portrayed that I just couldn't bring myself to put the book down!

The grandmother in this book reminded me of the grandmother in Encanto. The trope of miscommunication and withholding of information due to “protecting” the MC is so infuriating.

3.5 stars

Twisted and dark. Witches, shapeshifters, demons, devils, blood & gore, & a hint of possible romance to come? What more could you want. I wasn’t sure how I felt about this overall til the ending, leaving me needing to read the second book now, so I can know what happens next.

When going into this series just know it isn’t a standalone, it truly will leave you hanging so be prepared and have book two ready 😅

I enjoyed this one. It's YA but the MFC doesn't read as immature as many other YA I've read recently.
She does make some poor decisions ("Don't go out it's dangerous!" - Goes right out. Or "you get only one question." - asks smaller problem question instead of ya know, "did you kill my sister?" 🙄)
That being said, the story is well written and engaging, the location is immersive and unique, and the author handles loss and grief well. The romance is slow warming right now, and I expect to heat up next book.
I'm definitely hooked enough to read the next one.

*I would like to thank Netgalley and the author for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review*

I wasn’t really sure what I was going to think going into this as while I love anything to do with witches but I have also seen some mixed reviews so was definitely a bit apprehensive however I’m glad that I gave it a shot as it was an enjoyable read. This was really fast paced and I was never once bored while reading it. My favourite part of this was definitely the setting and atmosphere you really felt like you were there while reading. Kerri also did a really good job at exploring loss and grief. I also liked the characters and found Wrath intriguing however the romance didn’t really pull me in, it was just sort of there. Overall I did enjoy this and plan on picking up the sequel when it’s released. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars.
