I will probably continue with this series because the plot was interesting enough to continue. However, I wish it was more fleshed out, I think it could’ve taken one more edit to get it just right
4 stars! This was so good!
I was a little hesitant to delve back into the world of YA fantasy/romantasy (although this didn't really read too much like YA) but this was lovely! I really enjoyed Kerri Maniscalco's Throne of the Fallen, so interesting to see where that universe started. There are definitely some things I spoiled for myself having read that book first, but I really enjoyed this, and I'm excited to read the rest of the triology!
I find the lore and magic in these books to be so compelling and different from the typical fantasy romance mold (faeries, namely - although i love them!)
Emilia was extremely endearing, and I was rooting for her the entire time!! Wrath was also such a surprisingly complex character, and I'm really interested to see where this goes in book 2 (even though I know sort of how things wrap up)
