Interesting ideas with kinda poor execution and an extremely annoying protagonist

It was ok.
I really enjoyed reading the cooking recipes and Greed’s part. The plot wasn’t that bad, it could have been better but also much worse.
BUT
I felt nothing for the main characters. Wrath is just another tall gorgeous dark-haired man who happens to be Emilia’s enemy. I like enemies to lovers but their relationship felt bland. Emilia is boring: she spend so much time wondering what to do, just to do the exact opposite ten seconds later and I don’t really like that kind of characters. I wanted to like her, really.
Slow pacing, yeah, but way too slow for me. I mean, I felt like nothing happened and, well, I think everyone knew she was going to Hell at the end so…
I’m not curious about what happen next so I’ll probably read the second book but not now. I feel bad, because I really thought I was gonna like it, witches and princes of Hell etc.. but it wasn’t what I expected.
The murder isn’t even that important, well, it is but it’s like nobody’s mourning the dead and even Emilia’s sadness doesn’t seem real. I felt nothing through this book and that was the problem for me: it was just okay, nothing more.
So, 3 stars, because I read it and liked the themes, and it was not THAT bad but I can’t give more.

25. I read this book fairly quickly. I loved the build up at the beginning and the introduction of the character wrath. However, this wasn’t the Dark witchy Fantasy I was hoping for. The plot wasn’t well developed. Every chapter was just another evil creature following Emilia and her miraculously winning. I was also confused at the end. Therefore, I am intrigued to read the next book.
