Emilia reminds me of a blend of Jude Duarte, Tella Dragna and Paedyn Gray, charging about the place demanding things and pissing people off, forgetting people who are supposed to matter to her (Claudia, hello), not seeing what’s right in front of her until it’s too late and getting herself into super awkward and threatening situations (Envy) probably brought about by her own stubbornness and naïveté - all the while wondering why things which she inevitably needs to be saved from keep happening to her.

I felt like the beginning of the romance was a little forced in. Like it wasn’t there but you could see it would be, and then it suddenly was, without development?

I spent most of the second half of the book wondering why tf no one was looking at the local RELIGIOUS ORDER OF MEN living in the Monastery that’s RIGHT THERE when they were wondering who the witch hunters were like YOU’RE A WITCH HAVE YOU NOT READ YOUR OWN HISTORY WHO TF ELSE WOULD IT BE.

That being said, I liked this book a lot and will continue with the series. I just don’t *love* it yet.

I’m also deeply suspicious of Nonna and I like Wrath a lot.

Lo amé.
Ya necesito el segundo libroooooo

culture, witchcraft, just enough gore AND hot demons? yes please.

I actually really enjoyed this book! I was going to give it five stars, but passing the middle point the romantic dynamic felt off. I think it has to do a lot with her internal dialogues, maybe if it was a dual POV it would feel more organic. I am hoping the next book fix this issue
