There are a lot of things on my mind but let's just focus on a few...
*So if the demons' native tongue is Latin, they came into existence during the Roman times? How can they be as old as time (I imagine they'd have to be?) IF their native tongue is Latin when Latin itself is only about 2700 years old?
*"Just eat it, oh, mighty warrior." Ugh I don't know but this 'oh' business in writing is so cringe.
*At one point Wrath actually uses a match to light a candle, A FUCKING MATCH. A prince of hell who has tremendous magic uses a fucking match to light a candle.
But I am still a sucker for anything tall and dark and deadly so count me in for the next book.

Witchy twins Emilia and Victoria who grew up living amongst humans in Sicily. Stories told by their nonna about demons, legends and spells become too real when Emilia discovers Victoria murdered. Overcome with grief Emilia need for vengeance leads her into pairing with her enemy a Prince from Hell.
In the beginning I will admit I wasn’t too sure if I was going to finish. It started very slow for me and falling into very YA category with character/world building. Once it started to pick up speed and get more of a slow burn enemies to lovers vibe, I didn’t want to put the book down. I enjoyed the growth of Emilia and her determination even in the face of some dangerous demons. I’m intrigued to see if we dive more into Wrath backstory or even some of his POV. Looking foward to see what the series will bring.

The good first:
- The royal houses of hell were such a good idea.
- The handsome and beguiling demon princes from the different houses (each named after one of the seven deadly sins) is a high concept idea.
- Goddess-blessed witches is also a cool idea.
- I liked the surprise re: the sisters’ amulets as well as the secret about their heritage.
- The mystery surrounding the sister’s death was interesting.
- The author handled grief fairly well, especially the immediate shock parts.
- In short, it was a great premise.
Sadly:
- I found the main protagonist difficult to like or root for. She makes a lot of foolish, headstrong decisions and comes across bullheaded rather than strong. It’s easy to get frustrated with her.
- I liked the intent behind the reluctant chemistry between the two main characters… the execution, less so.
I do think if you like forbidden love or enemies to lovers romance, you might like this.

Dos hermanas gemelas, ocurre luego un despiadado asesinato, la lucha por desesperación sobre resolver quien cometió ese asesino hace que Emilia invoque a un demonio, pero no es cualquier demonio, es Wrath, el príncipe de la ira, uno de los 7 príncipes del infierno.
Cuando comencé a sumergirme en el mundo por primera vez de la mano de la autora Kerri Maniscalco no pensé que me iba a sumergir en un mundo tan retorcido y muy siniestro. Es que esta autora escribió este libro con muchas ganas de hacer dar infartos a muchos lectores. Por que durante toda la historia son plotwist, tras plotwist y tras plotwist. La historia en sí, es una construcción de enemies to lovers, es decir, Emilia nuestra protagonista es parte de una familia de Brujas (por lo cual ella también lo es) y ahora pues por la desesperación y venganza, invoca a un demonio, cosa que esta totalmente prohibida en su familia, más que todo su Nonna se lo ha repetido MUCHAS VECES.
Y aquí inicia la historia, la relación entre la bruja y el demonio en busca de resolver el enigma de este misterioso asesinato. Esta novela en un principio pensé que me iba a resultar super lenta, pero no fue así, una vez empiezas el libro y aprender cada terminología, es un viaje que inicias y no paras de pisar el acelerador. Por que una vez cuando ya llegue la parte donde invocan a Wrath, se expande un universo muy interesante. Y que me intriga muchísimo, por que éste libro es solo una pequeña porción de lo que está por venir. Y ahora ¿Por qué El Reino De Los Malditos? Pues resulta que hay un infierno, donde están los 7 príncipes, que aquí son representados como los pecados capitales, y nuestra protagonista por los giros de la historia, vamos a ver como va conociendo a cada uno de ellos (específicamente 4). Y luego hay muchos giros en la trama, que no te ves venir. Es que puedes estar de lo más normal leyendo que la protagonista estaba tomando una taza de té, y BOOM, cae del cielo un demonio Umbra que te quiere asesinar. Te agarra totalmente desprevenido.
Durante todo el libro hace que te mantengas en un ambiente tenso y que quieras saber quien fue el responsable del asesinato, y cuando lo descubres al final, es algo que no te ves venir (aunque por suerte yo le atiné y lo sospechaba), ahora el final. Que gran final, me gustó un montón, y te deja con muchas ganas de seguir a ver como Emilia Di Carlo continuará su venganza. El libro me dio por un momento un mini infarto por causa de una escena, donde a un personaje literal MUESTRAN GRAFICAMENTE como lo torturan, y yo dije, YA VALIÓ TODO. Pero como mencioné, el final es que se lleva la corona, este libro es como subir una escalera, todo conecta, todo se relaciona, y cuando al final terminas el libro… Es como que WOW, AHORA SE VIENE LO BUENO.
Lo que no me gustó, fue que en ciertos puntos la autora como que extendía el caso de la relación de Wrath y Emilia, y a veces dejaba de lado Wrath, como que lo apartaba y pues se supone que es el principal foco de atención en la historia. Si tuvo sus partes lentas, pero que sin duda alguna son aceptables. Es el inicio de una nueva saga así que de todas formas dio buen pie de inicio

I read a review on here about how Emilia talks too much about food and I thought they were just being over dramatic, but tbh there is quite a bit of description on food. I mean Italians are notorious for good food so I didn’t really mind.
I loved the chemistry between Wrath and Emilia. It was tense at parts but overall such an interesting bond. However the part where they’re making out and it’s all steamy she all of a sudden decides to bring up the question if all Wrath wants is her soul. Like okay just dump a bucket of ice on us all.
Regardless of all the little details I was very invested in the book and loved how the sins were portrayed. The way Emilia had more “wrath” than Wrath himself was interesting to say the least.
Would read again 100% my new comfort novel.
