quite good just took me a while to get through ... had a busy life this January

This was obviously very different from the first three, since it was from Ash’s POV instead of Meghan’s. But it was sweet. Kind of like 2.7-8 stars because I didn’t like it quite as much as the ones Meghan narrated, but it was still good. Grimalkin is the best and I want him to be in every book I ever read. And I am SO ANGRY there wasn’t a real love triangle in this book. We got one measly kiss with Puck and that’s it. I’d definitely like the series a lot more if it were about Meghan and Puck’s romance

Ash promised Meghan he would find a way to be with her and he intends to do so... at any cost. The fey cannot withstand iron so Ash's only choice is to become human. With Grim and Puck by his side, he begins his quest. They are joined by the Big Bad Wolf and an unlikely companion who can lead them to the End of the World. Along the way, they will meet creatures unlike any they've seen before and face challenges that will test their strength, the friendship, and Ash's love.

This fourth in the Iron Fey series is actually a story on its own -- don't be mistaken, it still has to be read in sequence with the other three titles, but it's more of an add-on story than a true continuation. The book is told from Ash's perspective and it is Ash's adventure whereas the first three are ultimately Meghan's arc.

Gone is Meghan, time for Ash's PoV; could have been a nice change, if it wasn't for Ash being so feminine in his narration. You can tell this was written by a woman, it's a shame.
Puck and Ash are exasperating all along, as well as Grimalkin. I can't stand that Chesire cat rip off.
And Ariella, being dead but actually not dead, coming back.. how to TRY to create a love rectangle. Fail, no need to say.
This book was worse than the rest of the series, surprinsigly; I thought Ash was more interesting than Meghan in the other books. But it felt like a completely new character, being in his head for this fourth book, and it changed my view of this character immensely. And not in a good way.

I have to admit that I was very skeptical going into this book, but I am so glad I read it! I think this may be my favorite of the series. The setting in this book is just fantastic. It is so interesting and vivid, I wish it were a movie because I think I could sit and watch just the scenery for days. I also really loved the overall story of the book (no spoilers!). The quest that Ash goes on is really interesting and looks at the moral implications of being fey as well as what the future holds for the fey as humans move into a more technology driven society.

One aspect of the story that I really liked was how it addressed where fairies go when people forget their names and stories. What happens when you stop believing in them. I've been a huge fan of Peter Pan ever since I was a little kid, so I know that if you want fairies to be healthy and strong, you have to clap your hands and believe!

The characters were as fantastic as they always are. I absolutely LOVED Ash as the narrator. He has this sense of introspection that Meghan never had. Meghan was basically just trying to stay alive, but Ash really contemplates stuff. He's a deep guy, ya know? He also goes through some MAJOR trials in this book, and I really enjoyed (even though it tore my heart up) reading about the different tests he had to face in order to reach his goal. And of course the side cast of Puck, Grim, and the Big Bad Wolf (who we met in Winter's Passage, one of the short stories) are as hilarious as usual. Grim really is just one of the coolest characters ever.

This cat is Grim lol

Overall The Iron Knight is the satisfying ending that fans of the series craved. I am completely in love with Ash as a narrator and I really wish there was more to the series. (Though, there was some stuff with Puck at the very end that just has my praying there will be a 5th Puck book. I WOULD DIE OF HAPPINESS. Seriously, I liked Ash but I'm Team Ginger all the way!).

I gave up on this book a week after reading it, before finishing almost 5 months later.
It was just exactly what I hated, repetitive plotlines. They went on a boring journey with a boring goal and it was really the characters and humor that got me through it. The portrayal of Ash's character, especially at the last 3 trials was dare I say it, beautiful but the whole Journey to the End of the World was...

bad.

4.5/5 stars

Stellar

I do no appreciate the heart puncture that came from the plot twist of ari. That was rude. BUT ALSO the ending was so lovely that I sobbed. SOBBED. What the hell will happen next? WHO KNOWS

4,5 stjärnor. Ash, Ash, Ash. Min älskade Ash. Fyfan vad fin den här boken var. Och jag älskar att vi fick så mycket Ash och Puck tid. Älskar deras vänskap. Blir fylld utav lycka varje gång Puck kallar Ash för isprinsen eller ispojken. Touches my heart. Denna bok var underbar. Nu kan jag dö lycklig.

I really liked this book. Though I am a part of Team Ash. He's an intriguing character and I thought the twists in this book were interesting. I don't think it was as riveting as the other books but I still really enjoyed it.

SpoilerAnd I'm all for happily ever after.

I'll definitely be reading more of her books.
