Ugh. Obsessed with this series.

This cozy mystery takes place in the middle of a series, with both the story and the characters giving off that series vibe. I enjoyed seeing the community growing with a wedding, relationships budding and evolving, and the town hosting new events. While I’m not well versed in the series, there were elements that made me consider reading the series from the start in order to follow the larger story, primarily the main characters as well as the town.

I would recommend this book to cozy mystery fans, mostly those that have already started the series at some point, and any reader looking for a fun spring wedding story paired with those enjoyable cozy mystery highlights of cooking, community, and crime solving.

Oh what a joy it is to return to Juliet, the Torte crew and the fine folks of Ashland, especially since this book centers around the spring wedding of Thomas and Kerry. Alexander has once again managed the perfect balance of suspects, clues and red herrings that will leave you guessing till the very end. I also love the continued development of Juliet, Carlos and the entire cast of characters; they are all uniquely different and yet mesh together beautifully. And just to warn you, do NOT go into this book even a little bit hungry because the food descriptions and included recipes will have your tummy rumbling in no time. I always look forward to reading anything Alexander writes and can’t wait to read the next installment in this great series. While this may be book 15 in the Bakeshop Mystery series, don’t feel daunted get started today with the first in the series, [b:Meet Your Baker|21853681|Meet Your Baker (A Bakeshop Mystery, #1)|Ellie Alexander|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1403424070l/21853681._SY75_.jpg|41125563], and you won’t regret it!

I continue to read this series for its cozy mystery and somewhat predictable course of events, which is an entertaining read. It’s still laughable to me that Ashland is seen as this safe place when 14 murders have taken place in the last few years in this series but it’s the unwritten rule when ready a cozy mystery to ignore that so the series can go on.
