OMG! I've been reading this series aloud to my kids (ages are 11, 10, and 8). This is our favorite book in the series so far. The world building, intricacies of the characters and their bonds, surprises, twists and turns...what a gem! The kids were always begging for more, and I couldn't stop either. SO GOOD!

still likable. moon is shy but endearing anyway, cause she's relatable. wasn't amazing, but good enough for me.

I thought I'd reviewed this book! Apparently not.
I loved Moon's introspection- while I imagine she was a difficult character to write, Tui nailed her. I think having her as the first POV in a new arc was an excellent choice as we got to learn the psyche of the main cast all at once yet it left us with equally many questions (like why she can't hear certain characters). It definitely provides great potential for the arc, and as someone who likes school-centric books, that was an extra cherry on top for me :)

The second subseries of Wings of Fire has just started and it is even better than the entire first subseries! The character development was amazing.
