all these kids thinking about their future and who they want to be and how they can stretch themselves

You know what, after reading this, I realized how brave I was really. I chose a specialty in senior high without considering which ones my friends were applying for. In college, I did not hesitate to choose the course I know I could do, it didn't matter if my friends were going to choose the same one themselves because they did not want to be apart from each other, I'd still pick my own. I always look out for what I know I can do easily. And that's freaking important. Decisions are hard, especially if you're going to be left alone. But you know, if you're going to choose something that's not going to be worth your time, it's useless. Your friends, they're always there. But the time is precious and you can't take it back.

There's clearly going to be some heartbreak in future volumes. A lot of tension built throughout this volume. It's interesting because it doesn't seem as big of a deal to go far away for college in the US.
