This is an Audible original focused on a young girl finding her inner strength when she intercepts a short wave message sent by distressed Amelia Earhart. Short and well narrated, the storyline shows the power a teacher's words have, as well as the bias against women that is still a social issue.

I enjoyed this for the most part, but I did feel a little confused or ... I guess let down by the ending? It just didn't feel quite finished. I also was really annoyed by the sudden burst of profanity (particularly the F word) in the one conversation, which also felt completely out of place for the time.

I thought it was a children's (audio)book until the last 30 minutes, when the author threw in "F-bombs" like they were confetti. It was an interesting book with a focus on women's rights. The author made some really interesting tense choices that felt pretty awkward.

This was one of these books where after you finish you want to punch a man!

This was an interesting story, but I feel like it didn't satisfactorily resolve any of the plot points.

3.5/5 estrellas

This audiobook is about Amelia Earhart and Lizzie Friedlander. It is based on true events but do not believe everything in this audiobook. A lot of what is presented is just conjecture about Amelia's thoughts and feelings during her voyage and the day she disappeared. It even tries to make us believe she might have been pregnant during the voyage. I assume some of Lizzie’s POV is also conjecture but can't be 100% on that since I do not know very much about her.

Overall, I wish this had been more about the facts instead of conjecture and that is why I am not rating this higher. It was interesting but I think if you want more information about Amelia Earhart watch the National Geographic documentary, Expedition Amelia. It provides a better and factual look at her life, her last voyage and where she might have died.

Surprisingly charming. I enjoyed the sound effects in the audio version, like an old time radio show. A short and sweet palette cleanser after a long and meandering novel.
