Phenomenal. It begins like a typical YA novel with a rowdy night on the river and gets progressively more intricate through seamless weaving of complex stories through generations. 10/10 EVERYONE should read this book — it has everything. Ex. lore/mythology, fantasy magic, academic setting, historical fiction flashbacks, unlikely romance, a model father/daughter relationship, queer and trans side characters….

Tracy Deonn you have created a MASTERPIECE. I’m so excited to read the next book. I love the intertwining of Arthur and his round table with “magic” (for lack of a better word) and fighting against shadows only those who are descended from Arthur and his knights can see. Absolutely great storytelling.

Also, the amount of representation in this book was amazing!

Soooo good!! I loved the characters and thought they were so interesting. Bree is a great mc, she's complex and loveable and her character development is beautiful. The plot is gripping and the magic system is really well thought out. If you're a fan of ya fantasy this is a must read!
