I read the Steel and Stone series awhile ago and it was a nice reunion to see these characters again even though it’s technically a prequel series. I liked getting more of Lyre’s background from this series since he had so many secrets in Steel and Stone. And this was a good ending to the series. Make sure you download and read the bonus epilogue! I can’t wait for the next series to come out where all of these characters will come together again!

I've now finished my second reread of this series and the Steel and Stone Chronicles! I love this series so much more the second time around, and I can't believe I forgot about the whole second half of this book. The story is engaging with the best twists, and Lyre and Clio are amazing together! Lyre's character is so developed and complex in this series and I am constantly impressed by the intricate but understandable world of magic Marie has created here. I really liked the glimpses of Ash in this book, although I want more of him. This has made me so excited for Blackfire and I can't wait for this fall. I don't know what's better, the end of the pandemic or the release of that book. Jk. Not really. Annette Marie stands as one of my favourite authors and I will never stop reading everything she creates.

Love, love, love

Amazing ending to this series. I don't think that Annette is capable of writing a bad book, or even a mediocre one, and The Blood Curse is further proof of that. The pacing is intense, whether it's the fight scenes or the passion driving you through the book. With amazingly well written characters, and emotions you can't escape feeling, this is one of the best books I've read this year.

Me, after finishing this book:

Well, damn. I really enjoyed the Spell Weaver trilogy much more than I anticipated to. This ship is the best, and I will die for them at any moment. The fact that I have to wait like a year for the sequel series? how rude of you, Annette Marie.
