This is probably one of my favourite books of all time. I think I've read it twenty times since I was eight.

And despite what the movie indicates, this book actually is fairly diverse! there are multiple descriptions of prince char that indicate he's black (Ella mentions his skin being so dark she's surprised he has freckles), as well as many other minor characters such as Ella's friend in finishing school.

This book is a feminist masterpiece. Gail Carson Levine is a brilliant writer that you can enjoy at any age!

This is truly one of the best books ever written. It’s beautiful. It’s lovely. It’s warm, it makes you so happy.
