One of the fastest non fiction books I've ever read, and equally one of the most impactful. Clear's writing grabbed me from the beginning. I've never highlighted a book so much or immediately started actioning what was suggested. I can't wait to begin my habits journey. Even though the content won't change I suspect this will become a handbook for me I flick back on every few years. Thanks James!

I found this easy to read. The content could feel heavy as it is very informative but with the stories it moved quickly.

I'm delighted I revisited this book, or rather, I should say, listened to it. The book's insights into habit formation and mindset transformation are truly valuable. It offers a practical guide on how to seamlessly integrate new habits into our existing routines and emphasizes the power of a shifted mindset in sustaining those habits.
One of the aspects that I particularly appreciated was the book's focus on creating systems to support the success of a habit. This approach not only helps in initiating the habit but also in maintaining it over the long term.
James Clear, known for his ability to distill complex topics into simple, actionable behaviors, draws on a wealth of knowledge from biology, psychology, and neuroscience to provide a clear and easy-to-understand guide for building and maintaining good habits while breaking bad ones. The inclusion of real-life stories from Olympic gold medalists, award-winning artists, business leaders, physicians, and comedians who have harnessed the power of small habits to excel in their fields adds a relatable and inspiring dimension to the book.
Overall, this book provides essential wisdom for anyone seeking to make positive changes in their life by developing and maintaining effective habits. Whether you're a reader or a listener, the valuable knowledge it imparts is well worth your time.
Favorite lines from the book:
- You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.
- You should be far more concerned with your current trajectory than with your current results.
- Goals are good for setting a direction, but systems are best for making progress.
- Success is the product of daily habits—not once-in-a-lifetime transformations.
