I generally live for the slow burn romance books but this just did nothing for me. Maybe because I went in with a lot of expectations, I found the writing and the overall pace very lackluster. I did not empathize or felt much about Yasmin at all- her character arc for me was close to flat, I just could never make sense of her choices and judgements. Julian, I think is the most morally corrupt yet compelling part of the book in my opinion. Despite the fact that I did not agree with a lot of things he did, it made sense when HE did them, given his background. Alas, I've read books of similar tropes before and for some reason this one just did nothing for me at all.

I just couldn’t keep reading, it was so cheesy and so many plot holes. I also made the mistake of getting the Audible version which made it even worse. Yasmin is literally a spoiled brat and they portray her as a “valley girl” and the added crap about the photography was ridiculous. The character had no depth and I just couldn’t stand her anymore. I read about half way through the book hoping something good was going to happen to want me to keep reading but it was just way too slow.

Hands down my favorite of the series so far. Their whole dynamic was so good and hot af. My only real complaint is that the side characters were so one dimensional again. Like we get two very interesting main characters and everyone else is like vanilla and some of their choices don’t even make sense.
