A villainous twist on Aladdin, but it fell kind-of flat for me.

Yasmine is the only daughter of a very wealthy man, but now her father is ill and wants to find her a husband to help run the business after he's gone. Julian, his righthand man, would love to be taking the helm and even though he and Yasmine are enemies, he has a plan that might help them both.

I wasn't terribly invested in these characters. Yasmine once had a crush on Julian, but now she hates him and he apparently hates her. Enemies to lovers with some killing on the side.

Loved this book! She always does such a good job telling a twisted fairytale. I was not expecting the plot to turn out how it did and I loved every second! The dynamic between them is great and there is still miscommunications as they grow as people and become better. 🥹 If you always loved Jasmine but hated Aladdin for her this is SO for you!!! Made my teenage self squeal with joy through this read! 💗

Honestly wasn't my favorite romance book. I'm a big Disney fan and romance reader and I really thought the two would make a good combination. Normally I'm a fan of the dark, bad guy who is only a good guy for his girl, but J didn't do that for me. Maybe it was the age gap part of things or the fact that I felt like Y didn't really love him so much as she liked rough sex... It was empty carbs, if that makes sense.
