When I started the book I absolutely loved it. Julian was messed up and it was refreshing. Yasmin wasn’t as naive as she looked and that created a great dynamic.

HOWEVER, when it’s revealed her was gonna kill her there wasn’t NEARLY enough grovelling.

Twisted by Emily McIntire

OK this book was so good, as with all of Emily‘s other books that I have read/listened to. This was an Aladdin retelling, which is already amazing to me because I loved Aladdin as a kid. But as with all of these books, it’s about the villain. This book is about Yasmin and Julian. Yasmin‘s father owns a diamond business that is very successful and Julian is her dad‘s right hand man who is also 13 years older than her. I did guess the plot twist at the end, but I actually thought there was going to be someone else who is being deceitful, but I was wrong about that. I loved the way that this book started out with some spice and loved watching this enemies to lovers story unfold. This also had a fake marriage in it, which is one of my favorite tropes. The other tropes would be forced proximity and found family.

I loved the voice actors for this book! For each of the Never After series books that I have listened to, they have different voice actors and I love that because I think they picked the best people to fit the story. As always, I feel like these actors did a great job, changing their voices for different characters and making things flow seamlessly.

Overall 5/5 ⭐️

This one was my least favorite of them all, I don't know why exactly but it gave me the same sort of feeling I got when I read Desperate Measures by Katee Roberts - not good! The characters were okay but the plot did make it much, much better as the story progressed. I liked the full on enemies-to-lovers and I definitely loved Julian once he started to realise his feelings for Yasmin. The smut was off the charts in all of these books, so read them for that!!
