Like most of Jennifer Weiner's books, this novel managed to tell a lot of different stories about a lot of different things that all tie back to each other in a messy but fantastic package.
By having four characters telling their sides to an interlacing story, you really get a full picture of this slightly atypical story of becoming a parent. I also liked that the story felt very realistic even when unexpected things are happening. Her characters were very fleshed out making all of them easy to relate to even if at first you felt like you wouldn't like them at all.
I wasn't entirely thrilled with the ending, which felt a bit too rushed and then neatly packed back up but on the whole this was a great story and definitely not your typical chick lit novel!

Kvali-Chick-lit. Perfekt når man har brug for at læse noget uforpligtende, der bare skal underholde, men samtidig være ordentligt skrevet. Slutningen er dog klæg og alt for politisk korrekt. Bogen bliver sikkert en OK B-film

actually, it's unadulterated chick lit but I haven't made that a category yet. Still, if you're going to read that, hers is pretty good.

Cute story, but nothing to make one think very hard about the actually pretty serious and interesting issues involved. Tells just one possible side of several stories.

I'm a big fan of Jennifer Weiner, but this book fell short. For the first 100 pages I was confused by how many perspectives the book was told from. Then a major event in the last part of the book seemed to be very very very similar to that of another one of her books I recently read. Maybe I would like this book more another time, but not right now.

Jennifer Weiner never fails! She is the one of the only authors that can handle more than one protagonist. This book was so full of emotion, it had me crying several times.

An interesting story about different woman with one thing in common, they are all connected to the same baby. I thought the characters were well developed and I found myself interested to the end.

"My mom sends me articles she clips from the newspaper. Like, actually cuts them out with scissors."
"Emerald," she said. "It's the baby's birthstone." My baby's, too. I was given a necklace with her birthstone on my first Mothers' Day as a mother.

I didn't love the book at first. But I got into it by the end. I like the atypical family situation.
