Sometimes hard to justify itself with how little it adds to the games' story, but then again it doesn't have to because the core story of Altair's life is phenomenal and all you need is a bit more historical context that the novel provides to enjoy yourself.

I decided to read this book before I played the game, and let me say, I wish I didn't.
Bowden's writing is sloppy, simplistic and annoying. It feels like he rushed the first two thirds of the book and then shat out the last part. The only decent part in the book is what the Ubisoft team wrote.

I would love to say that his writing has gotten better from the previous books, but sadly it hasn't. I regret wasting my time reading the whole series.

P.S Revelations is rubbish also.

THIS is the most AMAZING ADAPTATION EVER!!!!!!!!!! I've never read a game adaptation before. I started one of the HALO adapts, but I haven't played the game, so I had no clue what to expect. Anyways I never got around to finishing it.

Anyways - This book deserves a total 5/5. The only reason I give it a 4 is because of the ending. It was quite sudden how it ended and I wished that Altair's and Maria's relationship was explored a little bit more - although I assumed from the beginning that they'd end up together. I would ahve like to see Altair's proposal to her - Even though those details weren't in the game - It would've have been nice to add into the book.

The action scenes were dynamic and descriptive - Not too much a bore for the detailed speeches - Although I had trouble remembering everyone's names :P

Great adaptation of the game with more insight of the main character.
