I came for juicy Solas details but ended up loving the side-quest stories better? I'm conflicted but I'm also very much okay with this.

Please put Teia and Vi in DA4, BioWare.

I love how many of these short stories explore underrepresented areas of the series' lore.

To have a chance of liking this book you need to be familiar with the 'Dragon Age' series. The book is a lore expansion through a collection of short stories. Some stories were meh, other were ok, I mostly kept reading to learn more about the world, it wasn't entertaining by itself. đź«  shame.

Also side note: I've always found it werid in a anthology picking one authour for the front page as "the authour'. I know its going to be for marketing and Weekes is the lead writer (at least for the games) but it feels icky tho.

Everything I love about Dragon Age, with tons of new flavors thrown in! Diverse cast and stories, political and everyday struggles mixed with hope and triumphs! So much old lore is woven into new tidbits, and some of the stories truly made my heart ache. Old and new characters alike make appearances, and being able to explore as storied and ancient a place as Tevinter was an honest pleasure, all the good and bad, savory and sullied laid bare to see! If this truly is a hint at what we might see in Dragon Age 4, I cannot wait!

HOLY SMOKES Y'ALL

I'm going to eventually go back and rate each individual story (I enjoyed them all though some more than others) but for now.... can I just say.....DA4 when???????

I am in LOVE. I didn’t think I could get more excited for Dragon Age 4 but I was wrong. While I enjoyed every single of these short stories, Eight Little Talons was my favourite. A whodunit with Antivan Crows as the victims/potential perpetrators? Genius. The Dread Wolf Take You was the story I was most looking forward to reading and it didn’t disappoint.

this collection was so addicting...omg
of course there were some short stories i didn't like too much haha but others i enjoyed a lot!
...and all the allusions to things that will no doubt be picked up in dragon age 4 make me sooo nervous, i'm soo excited i love it

my five favourites in order:
1. eight little talons & 2. the wigmaker job
i really love the antivan crows...the writing in those two was just sooo good and the characters so much fun!!
Spoilerand the ending of wigmaker job and well as the qunari involvment in the talon murders makes me think that the crows will play a big(ger?) part in da4...

3. the horror of hormak
shoutout to this story which was the last one i read (since i read them out of order) and so it's fresh in my mind. for better or worse omg....this was creepy in the best way and so bittersweet and sad
Spoileropen ending again. uh oh!!

4. the dread wolf take you
the moment i realised was at the same time as charter in the story and i had to put the book down for a second lol...
this
Spoiler“When you report back to the Inquisitor…” His voice faltered. “Say that I am sorry.”
quote.....hello
5. callback
yeah the inquisition melancholy. so much of it in this story. i really really love the outsider/non-inner circle perspective on the inquisition. also, all the descriptions of skyhold abandoned, the fresco in the rotunda that never got to be finished before the inquisiton's end... and the allusions to solas's regret wtffff
