This was a fascinating book, that was quite long. I wondered how it would drag out to fill up the pages, considering the main confession came so early. But it worked pretty well, and I kept eagerly reading.
The quilt! Why? That bothered me enormously, that Jacob would use such an obvious item when he was meticulous in the other aspects of crime scene manipulation.
However, the eventual twist was finally semi-rewarding. Yet, I felt it left the book hanging, with another chapter or epilogue required. What happened next??????

I really enjoyed this book even though I didn't think it needed to be so long. My son also has Aspeger's, so the topic was right up my alley. I loved the story and the characters, but as other reviewers remarked, the author went a bit overboard talking about AS. She even promotes the vaccine theory that is very controversial. Also, she provides us with a character that is a stereotypical, classic AS kid. In my experience, most kids with AS are not so cut and dry when it comes to AS characterics. In any case, I still would recommend this book because it's an enyoyable and interesting read.
Ao contrário de outros livros que já li da Jodi Picoult acho que este não teve o típico suspense que nos prende até ao fim do livro, não sei, acho que lhe faltou alguma coisa daí apenas ter atribuído 3 estrelas!

READ THIS BOOK! It was amazing! Everyone about it was just so captivating. The way it was written, the different perspectives, the plot. It almost felt like you were trying to solve the crime while reading the book. The page count was a little daunting at first but it was totally worth the long read!

Definitely a great read! 4.5 stars. I am a new convert to Jodi Picoult books. As a speech language pathologist working with many kids on the autism spectrum this book really hot home for me. I thought this was a fair representation of kids with Aspergers. As always, Picoult makes you really think about all sides of the issue. Her characters are very human, flawed and so real. Great story!
Initially, I thought this was going to be too similar to Handle with Care and that I was going to be annoyed all the way through. There's the kid with condition, the resentful sibling, the suffering parent who neglects the typical kid, but I lost my irritation quickly. My daughter & I love forensics shows, so the crime scene staging was entertaining. The storyline wasn't difficult to figure out, but Jacob's character was easy to like and sucked me in. Well-written, however, there are a few holes in the plot and I would have preferred more at the end.
