What a horrific idea! And what would you do if the only meat, leather, etc. came from humans? 
I read a translated version (from Spanish to English), so that may be why the narration was a bit concise and robotic. I enjoyed how the author provided different windows into different social perspectives and activities in this society. It also breaks my heart to think of there not being any animals. 

It's a quick read and a book you will definitely think about a while after reading it.

This novella could have been so much more. I was left feeling like the message that the author was trying to communicate was lost in the last three chapters of the book. The book is grotesque and not for the faint of heart.

I don’t really know what to say about this book… I didn’t really like it, but I also can’t stop thinking about it. 

The entire first half of the book is world building, and this world is f*cked and let’s just say I’ve never been more happy to be a vegan while reading a book. 

The rest of the plot seemed really disjointed and rushed. I know there’s probably deep messages about humanity, loss, and grief, but the graphic cannibalism over shadowed that a bit, you know?
