Can’t wait to read Hunger now!!!!
I recently listened to Writing into the Wound: Understanding trauma, truth, and language and it was amazing! Roxanne Gay's analysis of trauma was great. I also liked that she had shared her experiences with writing trauma and the different book recommendations she gave that are great examples of trauma that is written. I definitely will be checking those recommendations out! Gay's writing is incredible, I read Bad Feminist and Hunger last year which were also amazing. I would recommend anything that Roxane Gay writes.
I listened to this book on Scribd and I really enjoyed it. Hearing the author talk about others blatant prejudices against her being fat was so infuriating. I wanted to fight for her.
She also touches on her memoir that focuses on trauma and sexual assault. And descriptions explaining how she prompted her students to challenge how trauma was written in literature.
As I listened to this, I really felt like she was a guest speaker at and I was in the audience just soaking it all up. It was thought provoking and relatable, especially in reference to politics.
Phenomenal book. I suggest listening to it since it is narrated by the author.

I read a number of articles by Roxane Gay and I love the way she writes. Her style is unique and can instantly grab my full attention. This little memoir is the first actual book I read by the author and it’s a great introduction to her work.
The author has this honest, open and clear voice when it comes to her writing, and I love the topics she chooses to write about.
This piece was full and clear on its own, but i was still left with a sense of wanting more from her, if i'm being honest i feel like no matter how long this book was i would still want more from her because she's that good.
