Starts fast, slows way down, and then finishes at record speed. It was good, but I felt the middle could have been shortened and didn’t appreciate how fast it all unraveled.

I really enjoyed the premise of this novel, but thought that it was going to go in an entirely different direction. I found that the violence in it, and there is violence, was all very unemotional. Which makes sense. After all, the main character is a serial killer. But, at the same time, the way it was approached left me feeling very disconnected from all the characters in the book. In my mind, I had pictured following the killer as being a fun adventure, but it was all very flat.

That being said, there were aspects that caught me completely off guard. Halfway through the novel, I had no idea where the story was heading. It took a lot of twists and turns, and I enjoyed that.
