3.5 Very interesting book to study if you’re a literature nerd. But I can see how some people would find it boring. The psychological turmoil is what drives the story. And there is depth to this book. But you have to be interested in that kind of thing.

We had to read this book as an class assignment. I was excited as ive heard good things about this novel.
Although i was disappointed. Either this book isnt meant for someone like me or its genuinely just a bad book i dislike.
I didnt like this book at all. I hated when Holden just kept repeating the same things he was saying in one paragraph like 5 times. Omg, how much that irritated me. I cannot finish this book, i just cant.
i wont even give this book a Rating.

...

I had to reread this book for english class. Even though now we're learning about the symbolism of his actions/thoughts, it's still not a book i enjoyed much.

This one was tough for me. I absolutely hated Holden in the beginning, but maybe that is the point. He desired so badly to have a connection, but then couldn’t maintain conversation without insulting or attacking the other person but the end. However, as the story moved along, I began to appreciate the character study that Holden is. He is filled with such rebellion and loneliness, and he is unsure of how to express himself to others.

Considering how much this book made me think, I cannot say I didn’t enjoy reading it, aside from Holden’s thoughts on women. It was a good read, overall.

Not only was it a teenage boy complaining for 300 hundred pages, it was a teenage boy exclusively using the adjective ‘phony’ to describe everyone and everything for 300 hundred pages.
