Lasky's style isn't for everyone, and for a good while, I was convinced it wasn't for me, either. I actually might still feel that way. But I'm glad I held out, since it slowly grew on me. When I found something I liked or something that resonated with me, I really liked it and/or it really resonated with me. This made me very interested in the book she contributed to talking about how to get young people excited about poetry.
Definitely not for people who hated how English teachers would ask about everything being a metaphor. I rate it 4 stars only because the style isn't quite for me, but for someone who really likes it, this can easily be 5 stars.
Favorite poems: Poem for My Friend, Relative Certainty, Rome V

Graphic: Vomit
Moderate: Cursing, Violence, and Sexual content
Minor: Mental illness, Murder, and Death
I can't remember everything, but these are the ones I do. Apologies for that. Lasky is an adult who writes with adult themes, so, as always, proceed with the caution you find appropriate.
