This is the first 5 chapters of Jacqueline Wilson's The Longest Whale Song and I must say it has most definitely left me wanting more! This author never gives her characters an easy life - because real life isn't easy - this one being no exception. Poor Ella's life is already turned upside down when her mum has a whirlwind romance, marries and is pregnant. Then things go down a pretty worrying route during the birth... I need a full edition to find out how it all ends!!!

I read this book when I was alot younger but I remember that when I read it i kept thinking about it all the time and I still to today after 5 years of reading it for the first time. I think Jacqueline Wilson did a really good job at presenting how a young girl will cope with her mum becomming ill.

SPOILERS AHEAD :
I also really like how Wilson added in the whales to give it more of that personal touch to Ella as she listens to the music with her mum and thus making her come out of her Coma.

For me reading this when I was youner this was the perfect book to read and the plot was amazing I loved reading and if I had a copy now I would definately be reading it now. I loved how everything was so smoothly done for the plot and didnt jump around this made me really like this book as I had intrest in reading it the whole way through. This also made it seem and feel more realistic to me as the reader as it felt like it was happening when I was imagining the things I was reading.

I couldnt put this book down when I was reading it and this made it so much more emotional and heartwarming, I think it is one of Jaquelines best books.

I adore Jacqueline Wilson and this is one of my faves.

I really liked this, and I think part of that is due to the fact there was a strong male adult in one of Jacquline Wilson's books for once! I enjoyed watching Ella and Jack learn to live with one another, and also I liked the development of friendships with her classmates.

This story was a delight. I don't think there was ever any doubt, considering I've read nearly every single thing Jacqueline Wilson has written. I don't think I'll ever stop.
