Is was frustrated with the main character's persistence in letting others' throwaway remarks define who she was. Yes, she is young, but this mindset qualified for 'and stupid'.

The meddlesome family was frustrating too. And the whole scenario was completely unrealistic to the point of farce. Not to mention that the heroine's reaction to the reveal was completely justified - what kind of person would willingly participate in a scheme like this? Definitely not anyone worthy of consideration.

And finally, I resented the whole notion of the heroine defining her self worth through a boy's romantic attention. That's life-ruining BS right there. And I considered her family to be culpable in this attitude of hers. Something that, unfortunately, was never called out or addressed in the book.

This was a seriously lovely book and I’m glad to have read it. I loved the cast of characters. I’d like to read more from this author.
