This book was the first Horror I have ever read. It did give me chills and sometimes made me want to read more, but the got better and better near the end.

i remember being obsessed over this game years ago and reading every single theory or story out there with my brother. when i found out there was a book about this i wanted it at all costs.
the book was good, but it kiiinda disappointed me. i get that this is not canon with the game, but still.
the ending that was the moment i was looking forward to was really messy and i miss a lot of things, the action scenes were poorly written.
however, im dying to know how the story goes and to get the mysteries resolved! so i will continue with this trilogy.
(now I want to play the game, but if I do I will die)

I won't lie. I'm probably a biased party here. I've been a fan of FNAF since its release. I'm not going to say that I went into the book with high hopes, but I did expect to like it.
The characters, while they started out a little rocky, were overall likable, and the surrounding air of mystery of Charlie's father and the decade old murder were engaging. The changing POV worked well in places, with the most notable examples being when we got to read from Jason's perspective.
I think one of the biggest failings of the book is its pacing. It just seems too slow for its intended audience. The chapters are extremely long, and I think a fast-paced style for both the chapters and the prose in general would've helped the action scenes flow better and keep the tension up. For me, it took well into the second half of the book for the story to finally start up, which is a shame, because once it picked up, it really picked up. The second half was a ride from start to finish, so good and interesting that it completely made up for a rather lackluster start.
For what it was, though, I liked it. It wasn't anything spectacular, but I think any fan of the games will enjoy this book.

I LOVED this book! The story was so dark and deliciously creepy. I couldn't put it down and finished it in one sitting. This literally reminds me of a darker, more messed up version of Scooby-Doo and I loved every second of it. So if you're a Scooby-Doo fan, maybe you should give this a try! I found out there are two other books and I'm definitely going to have to pick those up in the future.
