The hero was too much of an asshole but I’m rating this THREE STARS because of the FEMALE FRIENDSHIP. You’re Welcome.

This was a good enough read that kept me turning the pages. However, it felt like there was no plot sometimes and Ava deserved better imo

I wish I could rate this zero out of five. IT SUCKED.

I couldn't get past the awful characters to even enjoy the smut, because I loathed everything about this book.

Okay, listen. I have a list of grievances. I'll start with the fact that both of these characters were AWFUL PEOPLE with no regard for the thoughts, feelings, or existence of other people. They're both super hot thirty somethings. She pitches a fit in the middle of an airport because he has longer legs than she does and makes it to the counter to speak to the airline rep before she does. She has a full on screaming, leg kicking tantrum like a three year old, hitting him and calling him names. BEFORE SHE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT HIM OR HIS SITUATION.

However! He is equally as rude and terrible to her for the rest of the book! He repeatedly calls her beautiful and implies that that's not only all she's good for, but actually, beauty is a curse and all beautiful women are EVIL DANGEROUS HARPIES HERE TO EAT YOUR SOUL so actually, she just sucks and so does every other woman on earth. Fine. Whatever. BUT WAIT! Why does he think women suck? What's his Tragic Backstory? [Here I feel obligated to add a content warning about Caleb being a Terrible Person, with an additional addendum that I was VERY caught off guard by the turn his Tragic Backstory took, and wished I had been warned that we were headed towards Pro-Life Misogyny Territory] He dated a girl. She got pregnant. He decided to Do The Right Thing and marry her. She got an abortion. He has a screaming fit about how she "killed his baby". It wrecks his whole life, leads him to hate women, be rude to everyone on the planet, etc, etc. He talks about how his ex is evil, and a murderer, etc. Ava thinks this is PERFECTLY REASONABLE. AW NO, CALEB, YOU POOR MAN, THAT AWFUL WOMAN! HOW DARE SHE MAKE A CHOICE ABOUT HER OWN LIFE AND BODY! WAAAAAH!

This book was terrible, the characters were terrible, the only person in this whole book I didn't hate was Caleb's barely there brother, who does nothing of substance except be Totally Correct in hating Ava and thinking she's a shallow bitch.

I expected this book to be sweet and loving but it turned out to be much more. It was everything. I love it. I held on to the book until the end. I wanted to cherish the end. I didn't expect it to be this good. It was a great surprise. The characters were amazing even though they were judging each other in the start. It was okay because things like that happens in real life. I understood that and it made the book more real.

trigger warning: abortion

I get why people are mad at that particular scene, but I didn't see it as the author saying abortions were bad but that lying to your significant other that you "lost the baby at the mall" when you got an abortion after becoming the guy's fiancé because you don't want kids is, well, meh..? The guy explained he was mad at her for not telling him because she "killed their baby" and didn't once mention anything to him..? Like it's not the fact that she got the abortion that off'd him, it's the fact she didn't even tell him and straight lied to him and a FRIEND had to tell him... idk. Could the scene have been handled better? yes. Is it the devil incarnate? ...not to me apparently and I'm pro choice

i enjoyed the storyline overall but the way the main guy character’s accent was written annoyed me so much that i had to skim through some parts…
