I read this book for the first time for my children’s lit class.
For the most part, it was kind of “meh” to get through. The story was just so ridiculous that I felt like I was trying to get to the next part where things would finally start making sense—but it never did! And I know that’s the point, lol, but it just didn’t really “do” it for me.
I will say that I found myself chucking at the nonsense and at the absolute sass (!) of everyone in Wonderland. The Cheshire Cat was probably my favorite!
I’m kinda surprised that the ending pulled the “it was all a dream card.” I thought the sister’s input was lovely though. All in all, I can appreciate what this work did for children’s literature and I can understand why it’s so celebrated!

I've seen both the Disney's Alice in Wonderland movie and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. I thoroughly enjoyed both of those even though they're not close to the books. As for the books...I enjoyed Alice's Adventure in Wonderland, but I wasn't at all interested in Through the Looking-Glass. It was slow going and hopped around a lot, but I guess that's how dreams are.
