This is a strange book: Slow paced, flooded with specific sailing terminology, no fantastical elements whatsoever, and yet it was wonderful. O’Brian’s writing has a wonderfully direct energy to it, and of course the book’s best points are the conversations between our Captain and Doctor. 9/10.
