Losing Hope

I'm a huge fan of reading novels from opposite main character's point of view. HUGE fan. This book is a perfect example of why. It completes the story that you already thought was perfectly wrapped up, and so very beautifully. I'm going to have to go back and re-rate many of the books I've read, because Colleen Hoover seriously raised the bar. Love.

What I love about Colleen Hoover's stories is the fact that she can do a retelling without being too repetitive.

Losing Hope offered a fresh perspective on what went down in Hopeless. Knowing what Holder was thinking showed us that he went through just as much as Sky did. Reading about his childhood memories was heartbreaking and it had me tearing up all over again! I was just as invested in this story as before even though I already knew what was going to happen.

I loved reading Holder's letters to Les because it helped me see his character in a new light. It's like he didn't hold back his feelings in the letters so there wasn't a filter. It was all him.

But my absolute favorite part of this story was the letter from Les at the end. I was not expecting what it said about Hope. I still can't believe it. I don't know if I'd be able to keep a secret like that.

Anyway, this was another great book by Colleen hoover! Fans of Hopeless should definitely read it!

A bit sappy, but I still couldn't put it down ;)

Sky said it best, “My heart was shredded and minced then placed back inside my chest with the expectation that it should somehow know how to beat again.” Colleen Hoover has the power to create raw and beautiful characters that will stay in your damaged heart for the rest of your life.

The perfect addition to the story already told in Hopeless

Pretty good. Nice to see the other side of things.

4.5 ⭐️ I love Holder’s and Sky’s story, but at times this book felt very very redundant as he was retelling the same scenes from Hopeless. It’s still amazing though.

Amazing.

This book hurts. The first book hurt too. Which is why it took me 3 months before I read the sequel after finishing Hopeless.

Page 127 - Layken! The name I just learned CoHo would have named her daughter if she had one.

Chapter 31 - I am so excited to read Finding Cinderella now because this chapter told me what I’ll be getting into and I can’t wait! I’m pretty sure it will be a happy story and I’m so excited. I think I know who Cinderella might be too!

And CoHo shares her wisdom again in the form of a letter from Dean to Les. “In order to miss someone, that means you were privileged enough to have them in your life to begin with.”
