It’s a good finish to the series. I was SO EXCITED to pick this one up from the library but I didn’t read it as quickly as I did the first book. Super interesting story line and I like that she left it open for a third book.

While I really enjoyed this book, not sure if I liked it as much as the preceding book. It definitely had some good twists and turns, but at times it seemed a bit far-reaching or implausible. A bit sad this is the end of this little duet, I really enjoyed reading about the characters and feel like a little bit was left in the air. Hopefully they'll make an appearance in another book!

What a ride! I read Away From The Dark for the most part with a ball of dread taking up residence in my stomach. That dread, however, did not stop me from devouring this story in fact I could not turn the pages fast enough it was just that edge of the seat unputdownable a read. I couldn't wait to see what happened next and while it was a quite satisfying read I had an issue with the end which I won't reveal because I don't to spoil the book for other readers.

With that said I truly enjoyed this duet and would highly recommended it.

Thank you to Thomas & Mercer and NetGalley for the chance to read this ARC for an honest review.

Nine months ago, Sara Adams awoke with no memory. The man holding her hand told her she’s a member of The Light, a tight-knit religious group led by the terrifying and charismatic Father Gabriel. As a woman in the community of The Light, her duty is to be unquestionably obedient and to submit to the will of her husband.

But as Sara’s memory starts to return and she remembers her past, she sees that everything she’s been told is a lie. The Light is an insidious and dangerous organization, and its corrupting influence reaches well beyond the confines of the remote campus where Sara is being held.

With everything at stake, Sara struggles to sort out her true memories from her indoctrination. The desire to escape consumes her, but who can she trust? And which other followers of The Light were forced into this life, brainwashed to believe they belonged? The more she remembers, the more it becomes clear that Jacob, the man who calls himself her husband, is keeping shattering secrets of his own.

But Sara cannot flee alone, leaving innocents behind. She must fight to extinguish The Light.

This is the second book in the series and once again Aleatha Romig gives us another whirlwind book. I have been really looking forward to reading this after the brilliant first book, Into the Light.

This series was entertaining and had me turning page after page. The book had somewhat of an open-ending, so hopefully there will be another book in this series. I really hope there is, because I believe that there is still more to tell, especially as the epilogue left me wanting more. I want more on The Light.

Overall, if you are looking for a thrilling romantic suspense, you will not be disappointed!

description

"I've loved you since the first time I saw you, and now, the more I learn about you, the more I love."

I had been impatiently waiting for this book to pop up on my kindle, ever since I finished Into the Light. Even though a couple of my questions were answered in the previous book, I still had many that were a still mystery to me. The author doesn't hold back any punches and we start off right were we ended in Into the Light. Just like with the previous book I had no idea what to expect, which I really enjoy in my books. I want to keep on guessing and be surprised when certain things happen.

My love for Jacob grew further in this book. He was so protective of Sara but allowed her to find herself after she started getting her memories back. He believed in her and only wanted what was best for her. I really enjoyed seeing Sara grow into a strong woman. Her old personality and character was integrating with her new one. Internally she was struggling with many things, but I was happy that she found her inner strength to deal with them. We also get a better view of how evil and dangerous The Light is. I was intrigued by what was going on and all the new discoveries.

This was a strong sequel to Into the Light, however the ending was a bit rushed in my opinion. The book also had somewhat of an open-ending, so who knows there might be another book in this series. I really hope there is, because I believe that there is still more to tell. Especially the epilogue left me wanting more. I am intrigued and I want more on The Light and the characters. Again a very vague review but I just don't want to spoil it for you! Read this series if you love a good mysterious suspenseful romance story.

Awesome series. Book 2 was more suspenseful than Book 1, but equally as enjoying. This whole book takes place across 4 or 5 days, but it's packed with content. The cult/mystery/live story was very engaging, and it ended with the perfect ending that keeps you wondering.

This has been one of my anticipated releases of 2016. The book picks up right where we left off from Into The Light. A lot of questions got answered but my head was spinning. I have no idea where/how Romig gets these ideas. The way she told this story was amazing!! It had me on the edge of my seat. Every time I thought I had something figured out there would be a plot twist. I had no idea who to trust while reading. Romig knows how to write one heck of a suspense story. Everything just flowed and I couldn't put this book down once I started! This was the perfect conclusion to this series or was it.......

I'm going to do my best to not go spoilery on the first book in this series, because that stuff was good and you need to read it.
Sara's memory has returned once she stopped her 'birth control' pills and Jacob finds out that she has left The Northern Light with another pilot. She realizes that The Light ain't all it's cracked up to be.
That whole follow Father Gabriel stuff and obeying everything your husband says can NOT be loads of fun.

Jacob finds her and the rescue is on. Turns out she picked the wrong guy to escape with. Jacob comes clean to her once he realizes that her memories are back and they profess their lovey dovey stuff.

Sara has a decision to make though and one of them is: Does she go back to the Kool aid drinkers for the greater good?

It's hard being brainwashed.

Jacob and Sara both feel that the evil Father Gabriel is not going to give up his army of worshippers very easily though. He has to have the old Jim Jones plan somewhere up his sleeve.

I LOVE these books, they throw in enough of the whole cultish thing that keeps me turning pages faster than Tom Cruise can whip out the crazy.
