Oh. I had such hope. First half of the book was a solid 4 stars. Last half was painful to read. Every single cliche you could think of - check!

This was a very enjoyable read. Olivia and Cash had great chemistry. There were some confusing moments where I didn't fully understand Cash's motivation but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story. While this is definitely a story that's been told before I like the author's take on it and I look forward to reading more in the series.

Eh. Not much chemistry, I skimmed to 52% and gave up.

It was OK, but not enough to interest me in the rest of the series.

Yeah nah. These characters were... interesting. I almost DNFed at 70% because the characters just became that infuriating to me, but I was hoping for a nice, well wrapped ending, so I persevered. It didn’t get better.
The whole way through the book the characters whine about the same shit, and at one point one of the side characters makes a comment about ‘Cash’ fixing his act and Cash looks back on this. He recognises this unhealthy behaviour and then continues with it for the rest of the book. Communication would have gone a long way for these characters. The shit that they fought over was so inconsequential and unnecessary - like normal 26 year olds don’t act like they did - but they would repeatedly do it. They would again RECOGNISE this crappy behaviour and then carry on with it.

There is a section where Olivia says something about knowing something (i’m not gonna day cause like spoilers, even though I don’t recommend this book to anyone). It’s something she knows isn’t good, she knows the outcome isn’t going to be good, but she does it anyway.

In addition there is an epilogue that is so infuriating! The book ends at this really weird place where the characters should be working out their drama - but aren’t, what’s new? Then the epilogue just picks up the same way a scene we’ve already read. AKA old script gets reused. The most interesting character in this book - the only one that I kept reading for, got the lest page time. Honestly if he’d been been the love interest this book would have been better.

Listen. I’m a simple person. I’m all for a trashy, smutty romance novel - but when the book is so filled with flaws, like literal flaws. There was phrasing and grammatical errors, spelling errors. The characters were irritating as shit for at least 80% of the book, and the sec scenes weren’t even that good (I’ve read better in books that have REAL PLOT). I think that the book had potential and it was really let down.

Look it was still a bit of fun. It isn’t THE WORST new adult romance I’ve read, but it’s far from good in my humble opinion. I don’t recommend, but if you wanna spend a few extra dollars $... Go spend it somewhere else :)

Cash is part owner in an unconventional club in need of hiring an assistant. Olivia is a smart girl who has finished school and is looking for a job. She is very straight laced and always business, well until she enters the club.

Olivia learns to take chances but learns sometimes things don't go the way you plan but still works out. Cash has his walls up because of his past but can Olivia put a crack in them?

The author gives us fantasy, love, lust, betrayal, trust and hot sex.
