Somehow it’s a dull and boring read, but still it wasn’t written for this time. The thing that kept me with this book is Jo, her spirit and ambition. This book is known as an "inspirational" for little girls, I don’t see why it is. Even Jo, the ambitious one, ended up with a man, as if every girl is destined to be with a man despite the dreams she has. Why couldn’t Jo stay single? It’s titled by “little women”, it should be about women and their strength! I lost my passion after that visit of the professor, but since it was almost the end, I kept on. I know it’s a semi-biography for the writer, but I’m judging it as a literary work.

⭑— 4 star read.

“i’m not a poet, just a woman.”

this book and the 2019 movie will forever hold a special place in my heart <3 this is peak girlhood and womanhood and im so grateful little women exists because it really portrays the joys and hardships of being a woman which i think is so beautiful.

i was rooting for joe and laurie so bad at the beginning but then i realised why they weren’t destined to be together, as laurie didn’t understand and appreciate jo’s passion for writing. i love laurie sm i wish men written by women actually existed ❤️‍

I like how each sister is so different and how they work on overcoming their flaws. The ice skating scene is very memorable.

Little women is a timeless portrait of womanhood. The girls are like friends and Alcott paints the picture of what it means to be an American woman
