🌊 My thoughts:
So cute. It’s a very sweet story following Jo as she tries to finish her “30 before 30” list. After a tragic family event, Jo unexpectedly takes in her nieces for the summer. As the trio process their grief, her nieces convince Jo to keep checking things off her bucket list with their help.
I’m not sure if I felt like the two nieces were the sisters from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before because one of the girls is named Kitty. But I pictured the nieces as the sisters in that book and I loved it so much.
I also loved all the serendipitous moments between Alex and Jo.
This book feels more women’s fiction than romance, but I’m not mad about it. A really lovely read that handled tragedy and grief in a way that didn’t kill my soul.
Also a lot of miscommunication or lack of communication that brought a ton of problems that could have been easily avoided if Jo would have let Alex explain his feelings and if Alex would have demanded to explain.
Lastly (and most importantly)- the entire Zac Efron/ Troy Bolton / Highschool Musical marathon. I cryyyyyyyyy.

Omg omg omg when Alex took Jo to complete her “30 by 30” list - the visiting 5 countries one. I CRYYYYYYY. (The theme of this book). I audibly gasped and couldn’t contain the joy.
I have two side notes: First, Greyson drove me insane. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Second, the audio version was not bad, however I didn’t enjoy the narrator’s man voice for Alex. It was so Bro-y- and sounded like Meg from Hercules- and I would just recommend reading this one and passing on the audio, if possible.

Well, this book was.... phenomenal. Sarah Grunder Ruiz has become my new favorite author.! Love, Lists, and Fancy Ships is a gem, and I cannot wait for more people to read this book and relate to the story. Few authors can weave the themes of grief, healing, and finding love so perfectly in a single book, but Sarah did that effortlessly. 5/5 stars to this beautifully-written and gem of a novel.
