The writer is an opera singer, who shares his methods for learning a new language fast. The three keys he suggests are:
1. learn pronunciation first
2. don't translate
3 used spaced repetition systems
When a word is hard to remember it is difficult to forget. I have been trying some of the tips in the books for learning Georgian. I have downloaded Anki one of the programs recommended (for spaced repetition). I also discovered one of my problems with Georgian is I can't distinguish between certain sounds like /კ/ and /ქ/ for the same reason Japanese learners of English can't distinguish between /l/ and /r/ because their is no distinction in their native language.
There are at least ten t’s that occur in the world’s languages, and English speakers rarely hear the differences among any of them. Georgian has two /თ/ (t as in toll) and /ტ/ (t as in tank).
It is an interesting read, with many tools and links to facilitate the language learning journey.

Instead of offering a silver bullet which would've been easy for a book of this sort, it provides plenty of resources and links for learners to become more efficient in their own learning.
Easy to understand, I'm only holding off giving it a better mark until I implement the recommendations and see for myself.

I love this book and would highly recommend to people like me who let a language languish and need to get back on the horse. I could see all the things that I did wrong the first time and why it took me so much longer to learn French than it should've.
Pronounciation, pronounciation. Full immersion, no translation. Good stuff.
Can't wait to get the author's app when it comes out. Planning on either German or Korean using his methods.

WHY DIDN'T I READ THIS BEFORE I GOT A JAPANESE DEGREE AND MOVED TO JAPAN? My god. Imagine if I read this five years ago!!!!! I would be so much further!!! I'd be goddamn fluent! Why isn't this taught in high schools? It's applicable to so much more than language. Why doesn't every language class start with going over these principles? I'm so mad. I'm so glad I read this. Debating becoming a Japanese teacher just so I can start classes with teaching this book. DUDE
