I think this has a lot of really helpful structure and ideas and I know a lot of people have found it really useful!! The amount of ChatGPT chat is soooo disappointing though

The summary of this book is that in order to learn a language and keep it, you need to use spaced repetition, aka flash cards. That's debatable, but I can't deny that the system has its benefits. The question is whether I can find the motivation to set it up and follow through.

This book contains good info for language learners, regardless of level, and a comprehensive guide to using spaced repetition.

Wow, really good refresher to learn a languages.

The steps are not novel, but really good reminder for me that the key point to master new language is to practice them and get used to it by reading, listening, and speaking repetitively.

Spaced repetition system is the main highlight of this book, at first it might be boring because you need to create the flashcards by yourself, but actually it's for your own good. Your own library to populate every important matters that you need to remember.

If you've never learnt a foreign language before, this book will guide you solidly through that process, though it definitely has some unconventional recommendations.

For example, the recommendation to learning words--at least the high frequency list--in alphabetical and not thematic order. It's a book detailing the author's personal experience, so take the theory and recommendations with a grain of salt.
