I really liked this book. I didn’t know where it was going at first, but it was interesting to see how all these stories and people surrounding Arthur Leander came together 20 years later and survived him. Such an interesting take on the apocalypse and how humans survive. Very real-feeling and very eerie. The only reason it’s not a 5 star read is because there were some loose ends that I wish got tied up. I wished Kirsten was able to remeet Jeevan and see how he’s doing, I wish we saw the conversation that Clarke ended up having with Kirsten to explain who he was and how she knew Arthur and how the Prophet was Tyler. We also never really establish what the symbols for the prophets cult mean other than it’s an airplane and a T, maybe some thing were meant to be left up to interpretation, but to me some things were just a little glazed over.

Station Eleven is beautifully written but ultimately left me cold. For a story about the end of the world, it lacked the rawness and intensity that might have made it more impactful. If you’re looking for a gripping, character-driven dystopian novel, this might not be the best fit. It’s more a meditation on memory and art than a compelling survival story.

This was a lovely, elevated apocalypse story that was very touching. The integration of acting and Hollywood world was really interesting, I'm sure even moreso to someone who isn't in "the biz." If you want a dose of great storytelling with your post-disaster wasteland fiction, this is a book for you!
