Listened to the audio of this novel on Kindle Unlimited. This was my second book by AR Torre and I have enjoyed both of them. This novel was interesting and twisty, with a likable set of investigators trying to unravel a very messy double murder. While some of the twists we predictable, it didn’t take away from the story. Definitely worth a read, especially if you have KU and can listen/read for free!

Trent twin hugh and Nora who is sleeping with them both- one is a serial killer.

“Trent” is murdering women who are doing munchiasen by proxy. “Trent” was beat by his mom when young and Hugh was forced to pretend to be both brothers. Somehow the men switch places and Hugh became Trent and Trent became Hugh.

There are side stories of the detectives, Kerry the murdered women and her child who had cancer, cured, fakes cancer again to save marriage. The boy was kidnapped. They dropped him off in SD at a random park when the murders were discovered. They never endend this story line.

I have a hard time deciding if I like this author. She’s really hard to follow bc there’s almost too much going on. Lots of skipping around, parts told by different characters, and multiple storylines. The plot and twists are really good and shocking.

Although this book was incredibly predictable, I really enjoyed it. Thinking it's like a 5/7. It was Hollywood meets serial killer, and I was all about it.

A few notes:
Identical twins are wild.
Nora was sketch from the beginning, but you end up loving her.
MSP is so disturbing.
Mama Beth SUCKS.
Cults/ religion are so interesting.
I will never join a quilting group on Facebook.
I want a follow up book about the detectives daughter/ the sidekick.
It felt culturally relevant with Gypsy Rose being released from prison.

The End.

I’m a huge fan of AR Torre but this book wasn’t for me.
I’ve read several of her other books and thoroughly enjoyed them. This was just uneventful , I guessed the twists and felt no connection to the characters.

However, if you like police procedure & Hollywood glam you may enjoy.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one!
