Yukari's backstory was heartbreaking...
And how Aoi ended the last chapter makes me want to choke him! He needs to stop lying to himself!

Yukari’s backstory gets explored in this volume. We find out where he came from and he learns to relax and get comfortable where he is now. Himari plays an interesting part, as she gets an inside look at what happened with him.

The second half of the volume is taken up with a love curse that Himari has stumbled upon, and how to get around it. There are so many romantic hints in this series between Himari and Aoi, and it just bothers me that most of them are ignored or don’t work out. I really like those two together, and I think Aoi is adorable. I want some nice romance here! And that cliffhanger is just mean.

This series is fun to read, but rather forgettable. I really hope it gets better, but I’m sticking with it.

In volume 5 Himari finds herself in trouble again. From a sacrifice to a water spirit to a love curse. I really don't know how she finds time for anything else. However she does find time to tell her crush how she really feels.

awe so as they were escaping the heat, they ended up at Yukari's home, the source of the seven sacred waterfalls, the water dragon Ryujin....according to other yokai that the other waters have been polluted
to stop the polluting, Himari is offering herself as a sacrifice to talk to Ryujin so that Yukari recovers since his powers derive from that waterfall

oh wow we are learning Yukari's backstory
a nobleman picked him up since he was an orphan and trained him to be an assassin, to kill the emperor...they made him disguise as a princess to get closer to the emperor
as he got closer he soon realized he was a good many burdened by his title, and so someone framed Yukari of killing him, as guards were coming, he killed them
the nobleman claimed he was a demon child who east human flesh, he they was sacrificed in the swamp of Ryujin thus being reborn as an ayakashi
awe!!! Ryujin sent Yukari to momochi house because he knew he was lonely...damn he was more of a father figure than anyone TT...the way they he said they shared the same soul though
this little found family warms me :))

"I will punish you later"..."I have no choice by to tie you up" tying her up with the foxes lmao
now everyone wants to go to Himari cause she's a "spiritual priestess" lmao
hahaha not Aoi being petty about Himari and Hayato going to the scare dare
